The May Brodbeck Humanities Fellowship is a competitive award designed to encourage and support the study of language, linguistics, literature, philosophy, history, jurisprudence, criticism, and theory of the arts as well as humanistic aspects of the natural and social sciences.

The Iowa Faculty Scholar Award recognizes outstanding UI faculty members and provides each awardee with central funds for a period of three years to enhance their scholarly activities with the goal of developing and supporting a cadre of UI scholars across a broad array of academic disciplines. Awardees may use the funds at their discretion to support their scholarly activities.

The President and Provost Award for Teaching Excellence recognizes outstanding University of Iowa faculty with sustained records of teaching excellence. The President and Provost Award for Teaching Excellence represents the highest level of achievement in teaching given at the University of Iowa.

Given by the Board of Regents, State of Iowa, the award honors faculty members for work representing a significant contribution to excellence in public education. The University of Iowa will select up to six faculty members each year to receive this award and will award each recipient a $1,000 one-time stipend.
